If you’re wondering what you still owe for the music trip taking place on MAY 11th, information has been updated on the “Music trip” page. Please check this and have your paperwork and money turned in at the end of the break.

Music Trip Paperwork Due

Everyone involved in Senior Band, Senior Chorus, and Select Choir, we need to have your trip forms and payments by This Friday February 17th! No ifs, ands, or buts about this one!

We need:

Permission Slip

Contract Liability form (without this, you cannot participate in this trip)

Payment

Again, we need all of this paperwork in BY FRIDAY! If you HAVE NOT received anything in the mail, we will give you it to take home to your parents to sign.

More Variety Show Information

If you did not get a chance to audition last week, that’s okay! If you are still interested in being a part of the show we just need a couple things from you.

Name of your group
What your talent will be
What materials you will need from us (i.e. a microphone, or for us to play a CD for you)
What grade you are in or if you’re a community member.

Please have this information in to Mr. Cerullo by February 3rd. That is the absolute deadline for acts. You can either email him ccerullo@northwarren.k12.ny.us or call him 494-3015 ext. 518.

North Warren Variety Show Auditions!

If you have a talent that you would like to show off to the world…show it off to the world! North Warren’s Variety Show 2012 will be held on March 2nd! Audition forms can be found on the music bulletin board and should be completed by Janauary 19th so that we can make a schedule for auditions! Auditions will be held Thursday and Friday January 26 and 27th! Hope to see you all there!

Hope everyone had a nice vacation and is ready to start 2012 off with a bang! Just a couple of reminders about upcoming events from the Middle/High School Music Department:

NYSSMA Solos! If you signed up for a vocal solo (and your name is on the music board) please start signing up for lessons! The festival is April 19-20th for regular solos and May 18-19 for Jazz.

CASMA- The Spring festival is schedule for February 4th in Long Lake. If you are signed up to be in the Women’s Chorus, Jr. Band, or Sr. Band be on the lookout for rehearsals. Chorus folks look for rehearsal times on Mr. Cerullo’s Calendar on the music board.

Variety Show! - If you’ve got a talent that you want to show the world…why not show the world?! Be a part of the 2012 variety show! It is scheduled for March 2nd. Information about auditions will be available soon, but be ready for the end of January.

Practice Parts- Practice parts will become available for all songs we are singing. The Combination numbers (Miniwanka and O Sifuni Mungu) are already up for you to start practicing.

Jr. and Sr. Chorus Critique Assignment!

Congratulations to all of you once again! I am very proud of the hard work you all put into this concert! That being said, I would like all of you to reflect on your efforts and write a paper critiquing yourself and your peers.

THIS ASSIGNMENT DOES COUNT FOR 10 POINTS OFYOUR QUARTER GRADE SO PLEASE TAKE IT SERIOUSLY!

You have all been given a piece of paper describing the assignment in detail. Please note that if you were at the concerts you must critique the Choruses only, if you were NOT at the concert you must critique the choruses AND ONE of the bands. The video files from the concert will be placed on student common starting Monday the 12th.

You will have until December 19th to complete and turn in this assignment. You will be allowed to hand it in early. Please be sure that your essay is TYPED. I’m looking forward to reading them all!

Congratulations to everyone involved in the 7-12th grade winter concert last Thursday! It was truly a wonderful experience and we are all so proud of you!

First Payment of Hershey Trip Due!

Congratulations to: Sarah Fuller, Jenna Monroe, Cassie Maday, Christiaan van Nispen, and Abby Bradley on their participation in this past weekend’s Area All State Chorus! It was a fantastic concert event and we should all be proud of these five!
